Driver Buying Guide

Driver heads lined up in the build shop at Abbo's Clubworks

A driver that fits can add real yards and tighten your dispersion. Four things to get right:

1. Loft

Lower isn't always longer. The right loft optimizes launch and spin for your speed — many players actually gain distance by adding loft. This is a fitting call, not a guess.

2. Forgiveness (MOI) & head shape

Higher-MOI heads hold ball speed on off-center hits. Draw-bias and neutral models help fight a slice; low-spin models reward consistent strikers chasing distance.

3. Adjustability

Modern hosels and weights let you tune loft, lie, and shot bias. Useful — but only once your baseline launch numbers are set.

4. The shaft matters as much as the head

Weight, flex, and bend profile shape your launch, spin, and feel. We carry Fujikura Ventus, Graphite Design Tour AD, Mitsubishi Tensei/Diamana, Project X HZRDUS and more — see the Shaft Buying Guide.

The only way to know your best combination is on a launch monitor. Book a fitting and we'll dial in head + shaft + specs, then build it. Browse Drivers and Driver Shafts.
