The grip is your only connection to the club — and one of the cheapest ways to improve control. Two things to get right: size and feel.
Size
Grip size affects your release and can influence a hook or slice. Rough guide: undersize for smaller hands, standard for most, midsize for larger hands or to quiet an over-active release, jumbo/oversize for arthritis relief or a steadier stroke. Extra wraps of tape fine-tune between sizes.
Material & texture
Firmer, tackier rubber gives feedback and grip in dry conditions; softer or corded grips shine in heat and humidity or for sweaty hands. Putter grips are their own world — larger profiles can reduce wrist action for a more repeatable roll.
The fitting angle
Grip size is part of a proper fitting, and re-gripping is quick and inexpensive. If your hands are between sizes or you're fighting a two-way miss, it's worth checking. Book a fitting or contact us and we'll get you sorted.
